Best time to post on social media for sourcing candidates

If you Google “the best time to post on social media” you will find pages of different advice, based on various research sources.

But what if you wanted to get more specific? What if you wanted to find out the best time to post on social media for engaging and sourcing candidates … in your city … in your industry … for exactly the sort of candidates you recruit?

A bit too specific?

Actually, no. Not at all.

Step 1 – Get yourself a social media marketing tool

Two of the most popular are Hootsuite and Buffer (both include free account plans too!)

Step 2 – Use your account to post your content

Pre-plan your posts and schedule them to be delivered automatically to your social media pages.

Schedule over different days, at different times – duplicate some of your posts at different timings.

Step 3 – Review the results

Once you have been posting for a few weeks, generate a report and review what the data is telling you.

At what days and times are you getting the best interaction from each site?

Researching on the internet might tell you that Tuesday lunchtime is the best time to post on Twitter and Friday before 9am is the best time to connect on Facebook – but only you (and your clever marketing tool) will know, truly, what the best time for posting is for you, your candidates and the specific market you recruit in.
